Few people have the ability to fuse a beautiful, creative talent with a compassionate and contagiously kind personality in the sort of inspiring way Igor does. Hailing from the former Czechoslovakia, he has actively circled the music world for over 48 years –composing, playing, performing and sharing his musical sensibilities and creations all over Europe, and more recently in Canada.
While Igor’s early music education lent itself to more classical training, his early professional music-career as a pianist, keyboardist and bass guitarist developed upon his involvement in a variety of music ensembles – from rock & pop stage bands to jazz groups. This gave him an opportunity to appreciate and master a few diverse styles of music. One of his most notable early involvements was in the Jazz Trio, which received important recognitions and raving reviews from among critics and music circles in Europe, mainly Holland, Germany and Slovakia.
When not touring all over Western Europe, Igor’s involvement in working with Slovakian Radio & Television stations filled in the quieter times spent away from the ‘road’ – he wrote, arranged and recorded a large number of jingles, commercial and promotional music for a variety of ads, shows, and such. Igor’s original arrangement won 2nd Place in annual Music Awards in Slovakia.
For many seasons, Igor was selected to play in the Steve Young Orchestra
As a solo artist, he has been hired to perform solo piano at various social events and spaces.
Igor’s original music has been used in a variety of short, independent Film & Video Projects – i.e. Opening Promo Spot for Cine Franco Annual French Film Festival in Toronto, as well as a short dance documentary ‘Beyond Words’. In Canada, Igor has created and recorded a number of original arrangements, which has resulted in a couple of self-produced instrumental CD’s.
Igor continues his musical journey creating original melodies, songs and compositions, as well as participating with other musicians either as a hired session musician or as a band member sharing in his inspiring ideas and creative sensibilities.
